Team India wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant, who looked in magnificent touch with his bat in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025, has hit the headlines for his generous side. The star India player has sponsored the education of a Karnataka girl who is all set to pursue her Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) degree. Jyoti Kanabooramath, who hails from Bagalkot, scored an impressive 83% in her Class 12 exams but was struggling with financial impediments to pursue higher education. Jyoti's father, Teerthayya, runs a small tea shop and he was facing a difficulty in providing high-quality education. However, Jyoti didn’t lose hope and asked for help from local contractor Anil Hunashikatti, who assisted her in getting enrolled in BLDE College in Jamkhandi.

Hunashikatti reached out to his friend, who is Rishabh Pant’s manager. After learning of Jyoti's accomplishment and financial condition, Pant’s team emerged in the scene by transferring the first semester fees of Rs. 40,000 directly to the college on July 17. Jyoti has now thanked Pant for Rishabh’s kindness. “I completed my II PUC in Galagali and had a dream of pursuing a Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) course. But our financial condition at home was not good. I approached Anil Hunashikatti anna (brother), and he reached out to his friends in Bengaluru. They brought my situation to Rishabh Pant’s attention, and he helped me. May God bless Rishabh Pant with good health. His help means a lot to me. I hope he continues to support other students from poor backgrounds like me,” said Jyoti.

A look at Rishabh Pant’s performance in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025

Rishabh Pant did a magnificent job for Team India in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025. Appearing in four matches, he scored 479 runs in seven innings of four contests at an average of 68.42. With these numbers, he ended up as the sixth-leading run-scorer in the competition. In the fifth Test at Lord’s, the southpaw couldn’t show up as he picked up a toe injury while playing an unconventional stroke in the fourth game played in Manchester.

With a fractured toe, Pant requires a six-week break to make his complete recovery possible. His participation is doubtful for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025 which is scheduled to be held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from September 9 to 28.
