Finishing off the first innings against Punjab Kings, Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni continued his stunning form in IPL 2023 and smashed two back-to-back sixes against Sam Curran. The four-time champions had another stunning batting display as they posted 200 runs in their 20 overs.

This inning was carried through by Kiwi opener Devon Conway, who scored an incredible 92 in 52 balls with 16 fours and one six. But in the final over, MS Dhoni walked into the middle with five balls to spare. The former Indian captain managed to score one run in his first two balls and then launched the Englishman for two massive sixes to finish CSK's innings and set a 201-run target for the Punjab Kings.

Other than these batters, Shivam Dube also played a great knock of 28 runs in just 17 balls with one four and two sixes. Reacting to this batting effort, Conway spoke about how the atmosphere in the stadium saw a sudden massive roar reacting to MS Dhoni's sixes.
He also spoke about how he was focusing on scoring runs for the team and not his hundred as the wicket also allowed him to play freely. He said, "Good wicket. It was a little bit slow at the beginning when the bowlers hit the hard length. You have to be nice and clear whenever you go into bat. Absolutely (on batting for the team and not for the 100). It was a great atmosphere when it (Dhoni's two sixes) went out of the park."
