In the match 45 of the Indian Premier League 2023, the captain MS Dhoni of Chennai Super Kings won the toss and chose to field at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. His decision was proven right as the Lucknow Super Giants were restricted to 31/3 inside the powerplay.

Shortly afterwards, on the fifth ball of the 7th over, Ravindra Jadeja was able to bamboozle Marcus Stoinis and shatter his stumps altogether. The sheer look of astonishment on the face of Stoinis was the testament to how unplayable the delivery from Jadeja really was.

Watch the video here:

It was a fuller length ball with great loop, which pitched on the leg stump line and turned sharply away from the bat of the LSG all-rounder to crash into his off stump.

Meanwhile, in his short but breezy innings lasting 4 deliveries, Marcus Stoinis was able to score only 6 runs including one four off the bowling of Maheesh Theekshana.

Furthermore, Lucknow Super Giants were 125/7 in 19.2 overs as the rain had stopped play at the Ekana Cricket Stadium. The spinners from Chennai Super Kings did bulk of the damage with the ball as they picked up 5 wickets between themselves in 11 overs. Ravindra Jadeja was one of the standout bowlers as he delivered 3 overs for 11 runs and got the prize scalp of Marcus Stoinis.

This match has now been officially called off due to persistent rains with both Lucknow and Chennai sharing a point each on the IPL table.
