The Tamil Nadu Premier League match between Nellai Royal Kings and IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans witnessed a controversial catch which brought back some bad memories for Indian cricket fans. As the Royal Kings were put into bat, the Tamizhans got an early breakthrough after dismissing Sri Neranjan at the end of the second over.
Then in the fourth over, L Suryaprakash tried to make some room in an attempt to hit P Bhuvaneswaran through the off side. Here, the ball managed to take a thick outside edge which went to the slip where S Radhakrishnan held on to a low catch. After the decision went to the third umpire, the batter was given out even after some visuals suggested that Radhakrishnan may have touched the ball on the ground as he completed this catch.
Hence were comparing this catch to India batter Shubman Gill’s dismissal in the World Test Championship final against Australia. Gill got out to a similar type of low catch by Cameron Green, where the Australian all-rounder seemingly touch the ball on the ground before completing the catch.

Going back to the match, Nellai Royal Kings only managed to post 124 on the back of poor batting performance and continued their struggles with the ball. Chasing this modest total, the IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans chased down the total in 18.3 overs with Tushar Raheja top-scoring with a solid 49 in 43 balls.
Reacting to this performance, Tushar Raheja said, “I think we have a great team, first two games didn't go the way we wanted but we knew we could do it today. We stuck to our game process, just one which was needed for us, it came off today. Wasn't a big total, but stuck to the game plan and the wicket had something in it for the bowlers but targeted the powerplay. We just take one game at a time, momentum is important, can't think too far ahead in this format.”
