Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, the two-time Olympic champion sprinter, was spotted engaging in a heated argument with the Paris Olympics 2024 officials over denied entry from the main gate outside the Stade de France. After being redirected into the stadium from another route, the Jamaican didn’t participate in the women’s 100m semi-final race due to an injury sustained in the warm-up area.

In the video footage of the incident, the Paris 2024 officials were seen refusing Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and the American sprinter, Sha’Carri Richardson from entering the Stade de France main gate. This might have played a part in not allowing the Jamaican to do final preparations for the race to the best of her ability, which subsequently led to her unfortunate injury, confirmed by Ian Kelly, the Jamaican chef de mission.

The other clip saw Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce say, as per Sportskeeda, “She said they changed the rules yesterday, like when did they change the rules and not say? So you are asking all the athletes who for whatever reasons don't stay at the Village can't come through the gate. We came through this gate yesterday and went through security and was okay.”

After getting ruled out of the women’s 100m race at the Paris 2024, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce took to her official Instagram account to share the disappointment of it, without addressing her injury. She remarked, “It is difficult for me to find the words to describe the depth of my disappointment. I know that my supporters share and shoulder this disappointment with me. I am truly blessed to have had the steadfast support of my fans since my Olympic debut in 2008.”

“The support of my fans, my country, and the larger community has rooted me in immense gratitude that has sustained me throughout my career,” she added.

Moreover, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce had already spoken about Paris 2024 being the last Olympic Games of her career.
