Sunrisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) wicketkeeper-batter Heinrich Klaasen produced his best Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 knock against Mumbai Indians (MI) in the ongoing contest at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Batting first after losing the toss, the hosts saw themselves under immense trouble after losing five batters at a score of 35 in 8.3 overs. SRH’s top-order again crumbled in the big game as openers Travis Head (0 off four) and Abhishek Sharma (eight off eight) went back to the dugout early along with Ishan Kishan, who came to bat at number three and scored only one-run from his bat after facing four deliveries.

In the crunch situation, Klaasen stepped up and displayed valiance with his bat. Taking on MI’s potent bowling unit, he stitched a crucial partnership with Abhinav Manohar for the sixth wicket. Facing 63 deliveries together, the duo added 99 runs for their team. Manohar departed after contributing 43 off 37 to his side but Klaasen stood at the crease until the penultimate over of the innings and chipped in with 71 off 44. Riding on his innings, the Orange Army posted a fighting total of 143/8 in 20 overs. The right-handed batter’s knock won several hearts on social media. An X user named Johns praised his batting and wrote, “Fifty for Klaasen. Fifty from just 34 balls when the team was just 76 for 5, what a knock under pressure by SRH’s main man.”

MI will look to chase down target and win their fourth consecutive game

Mumbai will look to showcase discipline in the chase to pull off the low target easily. Rohit Sharma, who looked extraordinary in his previous encounter against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), will be expected to take Hyderabad’s bowling attack to the cleaners while opening.

SRH will heavily bank on their captain Pat Cummins to defend the score and make a comeback in the match. If the Orange Army lose this game, their chances of qualifying to the next round will be in jeopardy as they have won only two matches in their seven outings thus far.
