Eight matches have been played in the ongoing ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023 in India and New Zealand and Pakistan are placed in the top two, respectively, as both teams have won their opening two matches. On the other hand, Sri Lanka and the Netherlands lost their starting two games in the World Cup and are placed at the bottom alongside Afghanistan.

ICC ODI World Cup 2023: India vs Afghanistan: The hosts India are scheduled to square off against Afghanistan at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on October 11 at 02:00 p.m. IST. Both the teams have played one game so far in the quadrennial showpiece and Team India won their match against Australia while Afghanistan lost their match against Bangladesh. The game is expected to be a battle between spinners and batters as both teams will look to boost their chances by winning this game.

Dawid Malan's 140 carries England to 137-run win over Bangladesh

After suffering a massive nine-wicket loss against New Zealand, England returned to winning ways with a massive victory over Bangladesh. Playing at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala, the Three Lions batted first and got off to a stellar start. Dawid Malan scored  140 in 107 with 16 fours and five sixes to help England post a huge total of 365 runs.  Unlike England, Bangladeshi batters failed to put on a big-hitting performance and were bundled out at the score of 227 as  England registered their first win of the World Cup.

Pakistan complete highest chase in World Cup history to beat Sri Lanka by six wickets

With centuries by Abdullah Shafique and Mohammed Rizwan, Pakistan completed the highest chase in World Cup history to beat Sri Lanka by six wickets. The first innings saw Sri Lanka put in a stunning batting effort with Kusal Mendis (122) and Sadeera Samarawickrama (108) scoring incredible centuries. The Lankans posted a massive total of 345 runs with Pakistani bowling struggling to contain runs.  Abdullah Shafique (113) and Mohammed Rizwan (131*) helped Pakistan continue their winning run in the World Cup with a six-wicket win over Sri Lanka.

Rohit Sharma & men will take on Afghanistan at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi in their next match at the ongoing ODI World Cup. This match will also see former India skipper Virat Kohli face Naveen-ul-Haq after the last time they got into a heated argument during the IPL 2023. Recalling the same incident, the Afghan skipper during the pre-match presser added that the aggression is only seen on the ground.

India selectors to take call on Shubman Gill’s ODI World Cup spot

The Rohit Sharma-led Team India won their opening game by six wickets against Australia and will now take Afghanistan at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. But before the side’s next game, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed that opener Shubman Gill will miss this fixture too. According to reports,  Yashasvi Jaiswal or Ruturaj Gaikwad could end up joining the side as a cover.

After being snubbed at the Women's Big Bash League overseas draft last month, Sri Lanka captain Chamari Athapaththu has been signed by Sydney Thunder as an overseas replacement player.
