Temba Bavuma-led South Africa continued their strong performance in the game against Australia on Thursday as they thrashed the five-time World Cup winners by 134 runs after bundling them out on 177 runs in 40.5 overs. Quinton de Kock smashed back-to-back centuries for the Proteas while Aiden Markram also continued his form and scored a half-century as South Africa posted a huge total of 311 runs in Lucknow. Australia lost their opening six wickets in 17 overs at a score of 70 runs and eventually lost the match. With this win, South Africa managed the top spot in the standings with a better net run rate.

Australia women's 2nd ODI against West Indies abandoned due to rain
After losing the three-match ODI series against Australia, West Indies skipper Hayley Matthews, who missed the first ODI due to a minor injury, returned to the second ODI against the Aussies on Thursday. However, the match was abandoned due to rain when the Windies' women were struggling at 107 for 8 after 25.3 overs. Australia continue their lead by 1-0 in the three-match ODI series with the last and final match to be played in Melbourne on Saturday.
India star Rinku Singh donates INR 11 lakh for construction of Kuldevi temple
Indian star batter Rinku Singh, who recently won the gold medal at the Asian Games 2023 in the Men's Cricket event, has donated a hefty amount of INR 11 lakhs for temple construction in Uttar Pradesh. Maa Chaudhary Devi’s idol will be consecrated on October 16 in the village Kamalpur of district Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh. Goa police arrest 3 individuals for betting on India-Afghanistan ICC ODI World Cup 2023 game
Addressing the incident, the illegal betting activity was conducted in a bungalow in the Porvorim area on the outskirts of Goa’s capital Panaji as per a senior police official. The Porvorim police had arrested the three individuals, originally from Karnataka and in the age group of 32 to 46 years on Wednesday, the senior police officer further shared.
