Minnesota United goalkeeper Dayne St. Clair assisted Franco Fragapane to score in the third minute of stoppage time. His assist helped his side get a 1-1 finish against New England Revolution on September 10, Sunday. Dayne was brought in as an extra attacker for the 93rd minute corner. The Canadian made full use of the opportunity and provided a pass to Fragapane, who hit a fiery left-foot shot straight into the nets. 

India loses to China in AFC U23 Asian Cup Qualifiers

India suffered a heartbreak in the AFC U23 Asia Cup Qualifiers as they lost to China on September 9, Saturday. The Men in Blue conceded last goal to lose the game 1-2 to the hosts of the season. No Indian player managed to get their name on the scoresheet, but a 92nd minute own goal by China got the score to 1-1 on both sides.

Gambian coach Tom Saintfiet described Morocco's earthquakes as 'shocking and terrible'. Saintfiet and his team are in Marrakesh for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Congo, which was slated to be played on Sunday, September 10. Notably, a tragic and powerful earthquake of 6.8 magnitude struck Morocco late Friday night, claiming more than 800 lives. 

Saintfiet described the disastrous earthquake as terrifying and said that he feared that a plane had crashed into his hotel. The 50-year-old told BBC World Service's Mani Djazmi, "At first I heard a lot of noise and thought it was someone knocking on my door."

Kylian Mbappe and his French teammates took some time off from their Euro 2024 qualifying schedule to witness France open their Rugby World Cup campaign in style. However, a video of PSG star Kylian  Kylian Mbappe looking lost and confused while watching the game has gone viral on social media. 

The 24-year-old was in the crowd alongside international teammates Antoine Griezmann, Dayot Upamecano, and Ousmane Dembele and didn't look familiar with the sport as his reactions to some points scored were delayed, which were caught on camera.  Nevertheless, the PSG superstar celebrated the win with the rugby squad at the Stade de France in Paris.


US Open 2023: Coco Gauff wins her first ever Grand Slam

A 19-year-old Coco Gauff won her first ever Grand Slam as she defeated World No. 2 Aryna Sabalenka in a thrilling US Open 2023 women's singles final. Gauf recorded a 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 win over the second seed Belarusian to claim the title. With her win, Gauff became the first American to win a US Open singles title since Sloane Stephens in 2017. 

US Open 2023: Anna Danilina and Harri Heliovaara clinch mixed doubles' title

Anna Danilina and Harri Heliovaara won the mixed doubles' final at the US Open 2023 on Sunday, September 10. The pair defeated top seeds Austin Krajicek and Jessica Pegula 6-3, 6-4 to clinch the victory. Each one of the winning pair became a major champion for the first time. 

Heliovaara said after the win, “Happy to lift the trophy… I have to thank my partner. She is the reason we’re standing here. I didn’t know you two weeks ago, but now I know you very well. Thank you very much Anna.”

Sabalenka admits 'new rankings' will help her cope with the US Open 2023 final defeat

The incoming World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka said that her new ranking will help her cope with the defeat in the finals of the US Open 2023 women's singles. Sabalenka lost the final to 19-year-old Coco Gauff on Sunday, September 10. After her defeat she said, "Yeah, that's why probably, that's why I'm not super depressed right now." 

Sabalenka added, "I'm definitely going for a drink tonight if I'm allowed to say that.  Yes, we are athletes, but sometimes we are drinking, but not much."


Pranati Nayak wins bronze at World Challenge Cup

Indian gymnast Pranati Nayak won bronze medal at the World Challenge Cup in Szombathely, Hungary on September 9, Saturday. Nayak won the medal in a single-vault tie-break, when she tied for third spot on the podium with for third place with Greece's Athanasia Mesiri. 

The 28-year-old Indian scored 13.066 in a tie-break while the Greek star managed 13.000. 

India announce equestrian squad for Asian Games 2023

India announced the equestrian squad for the upcoming Asian Games 2023. The forthcoming continental showpiece is set to commence from September 23 to October 8 in  Hangzhou, China.
