The fixtures for the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 have been announced and the two-time finalists, Team India are scheduled to host inaugural WTC winners New Zealand, England, and Bangladesh at home while the Men in Blue will play their away game against Australia, West Indies, and South Africa.
The WTC 2023-25 cycle will commence with the Ashes as the 2023 finalists, Australia are scheduled to travel to England for a five-match Test series, slated to be held from June 16 to July 31. Reportedly, the WTC 2023-25 will be played for a span of two years with 27 series and 68 matches in the group phase just like the previous editions followed by a one-off final for the coveted mace.
Apart from the Ashes, the most-anticipated fixture of the upcoming WTC cycle will be the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, where the two WTC 2023 finalists will face each other in Australia. England will play the most number of matches in the forthcoming cycle, as they are set to feature in 22 games followed by Australia, and India, who will play 21 and 19 games respectively.
India's 19 Test matches in the 2023-25 cycle include two away Tests against West Indies, and South Africa each followed by their home fixtures against England, Bangladesh, and New Zealand, where they will play five, two, and three matches respectively. In the end, India will travel to Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, where they will play five matches.
However, all the participating teams may not play the same amount of matches, each team will play six series, including three home and three away series, consisting of two to five matches each. The WTC 2023-25 cycle is likely to follow the same point system from the previous cycle, which includes 12 points for a win, four for a draw, and six for a tie while the standings will be determined by the percentage of points collected.
