India are set to play a five-match Test series in England starting on June 20. It is going to be a crucial series for India as this will be the first time that Shubman Gill will lead the team in red-ball cricket. Gill was appointed as the new Test captain of India following Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli’s retirement from the longest format. Along with Gill, wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant has also been appointed as new Test vice-captain for the England tour.
It will be interesting to see how the young Indian team will perform in England under Shubman Gill’s leadership. Reacting to this, former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh backed Gill to perform well as Test captain and believes he needs 1-2 months to groom. “Every captain has the capability to carry forward the legacy. Captains are not made in 1-2 months. You give some time to Gill, he will rise to the occasion, and you will see how capable he is as a captain. We have already seen him as a batter, that he is 'Gill Sahab the great,” Harbhajan was quoted as saying by ANI.

Speaking further, Harbhajan Singh backed the Indian team to do well in the upcoming Test series in England. The former cricketer believes that the Indian team can turn the tables around in England this time. Notably, India last won a Test series in England in 2007.
"We hope that India does well once again on English soil. Best wishes to Shubman Gill and Team India. It is a young team but a 'dum waali team'," Harbhajan Singh said.
