Renowned sports anchor and Jasprit Bumrah’s spouse Sanjana Ganesan believes her husband has become a better cricketer after the birth of their son. In September 2023, Sanjana gave birth to her son Angad, following which Jasprit Bumrah left Team India’s Asia Cup 2023 camp in Sri Lanka and flew back to India to attend the birth of the child. Numbers reveal that Bumrah has done a magnificent job for India after the birth of his child. The speedster performed extraordinarily for India in the T20 World Cup 2024, chipping in with 15 wickets in eight matches. He looked sensational in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 as well. The 31-year-old emerged as the highest wicket-taker in the series, claiming 32 wickets in five games.

Ganesan recently appeared in the latest episode of the ‘Moments of Silence’ podcast and recounted the moment how Bumrah travelled to India abruptly to attend the birth of their child. “When we first held our baby in the hospital, Jasprit was playing in the Asia Cup at the time. He flew back as soon as he could. I don’t want to say it but I do think he’s been a better cricketer since Angad came along. Having a peaceful home to come back to really helps him switch off and be a dad and a husband,” said Ganesan.

Jasprit Bumrah to return to action in England Test series

Jasprit Bumrah will look to be impactful for Team India in the upcoming five-match Test series against England. The speedster’s Test record is sensational in England as he has picked up 37 wickets in 17 innings of nine matches. In the previous tour, he emerged as the most successful bowler with 23 wickets in nine innings of five games.

Bumrah is one of the few players in the current Team India, who has played a lot of cricket in English conditions and also knows the nature of the pitches there. He will be assisted by Mohammed Siraj, Arshdeep Singh, and Prasidh Krishna to reinforce India’s fast-bowling unit.
