Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) top-order batter Ishan Kishan, who was an integral part of Mumbai Indians (MI) from 2018 to 2024, reunited with his former owner Nita Ambani, who was present at the iconic Wankhede Stadium to witness the Indian Premier League (IPL) game between the two teams on April 17. The match ended in Mumbai’s favour by four wickets as the hosts chased down a target of 163 in 18.1 overs to record their third triumph in the tournament. The Pat Cummins-led side have now hoarded five defeats after their seven outings.

Following the game, when all players were returning to the dugout, Kishan headed towards Nita and greeted her with a cheerful smile. The MI owner also received Kishan with a smile on her face and patted the 26-year-old’s cheek. Besides Nita, Kishan also had moments of joy with his senior Team India colleagues and former MI teammates Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah. In 2020, when MI lifted the coveted trophy for the fifth time, Kishan was the leading run-getter for the team with 516 runs in 14 matches. The left-handed batter’s reunion with MI members has delivered special moments to his fans.

Ishan Kishan’s flop show continued at Wankhede against MI in IPL 2025

Against his old team MI at his favourite Wankhede Stadium, Kishan was expected to have a blast for SRH but the top-order batter again disappointed his supporters. In the ninth over of the game, he stepped out of the crease to attack Will Jacks but got stumped by Ryan Rickelton, who was keeping wickets for Mumbai. He contributed only two runs to his team in the game.

Kishan has scored only 138 runs in seven matches at an average of 27.60. Except for his maiden IPL ton against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Hyderabad, the southpaw hasn’t produced any impactful knock for the Orange Army. After notching up the hundred against RR, he has scored in double digit only once.
