I have to work for the next 6-8 months: MS Dhoni on his return in IPL 2026

MS Dhoni hasn’t made any official announcement regarding his retirement from the IPL. However he gave his fans a ray of hope by saying that he will work for seven to eight months after the end of IPL 2025 to see if he can make his return in the next edition. Notably, CSK are already out of the playoffs in the ongoing season and are currently place at 10th spot in the points table with just three wins and nine losses so far.

“I'm 43 and I have played for a long time. They don't know when it will be my last year, it is a fact I play only 2 months a year. This IPL gets over, then I have to work for the next 6-8 months to see if my body is able to take this kind of pressure. (on his retirement plans) Nothing to decide as of now, but the love and affection I get everywhere is excellent,” Dhoni said after CSK’s win over KKR on May 7.
