The big-ticket IPL 2023 fixture between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings saw an incredible reaction catch by Ravindra Jadeja. The Indian all-rounder sent out a full ball at MI's Cameron Green, who smashed the ball straight back at him.

Jadeja put his hands up to protect himself, but the ball stuck in his right hand.  In the process, Jadeja also saved umpire Chris Gaffaney as he was seen ducking for cover. As the catch was completed, Gaffaney was straight away on the ground.

The catch certainly derailed the Mumbai Indians as they continued this trend of losing wickets and only managed to put on 157 runs in their 20 overs. Even this total was only possible because of a late cameo by  Hrithik Shokeen, who scored 18 in 12 balls.

Reacting to this performance, CSK's Mitchell Santner  was elated  with the team's bowling and stated that the pitch was allowing spinners to get grip and turn, allowing him and Jadeja to dominate.

He said, "The total is a bit below par. It did spin a bit, slower balls holding up. Started pretty flat. Hopefully, the dew will play a factor as well. We saw a couple grip so I went a bit slower to get overspin, and Jadeja always bowls well. The atmosphere is awesome, first time in a few years. It was a cracking crowd when we played at home as well, definitely different from New Zealand."
