Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag gave a piece of advice to Lucknow Super Giants skipper Rishabh Pant amidst his poor form with the bat in IPL 2025. The 2011 World Cup winner said that Pant needs to regain confidence by looking at his old videos where he scored big runs in the IPL. Further, he also advised the wicketkeeper batter to talk to former Indian captain MS Dhoni which could help him to feel better mentally.

Rishabh Pant has been able to score only 128 runs in the ongoing IPL season at an underwhelming average of 12.80 with one fifty. “Pant should watch videos of himself batting when he used to make runs in the IPL. You get confidence from watching that, you remember how you used to go about your innings," Virender Sehwag said while speaking on Cricbuzz.

Pant has a phone. He can pick that up and call whoever he wants. If he feels that mentally he is not thinking right, then so many cricketers can help him. If he considers Dhoni as his role model, then he should talk to him,” Sehwag further added.

The top-order can't do the heavy job for us every time: Rishabh Pant after LSG’s defeat against PBKS

LSG suffered their sixth defeat of IPL 2025 after losing to Punjab Kings by 37 runs in match number 54 of the season in Dharamshala. After the match, Rishabh Pant said that the top-order has been constantly performing for LSG but the middle-order also needs to step up for now.

“It makes sense when your top order is batting really well. Every match you can't hope they will come off nicely. It's part of the game. We need to take the game deep. Every time they can't do the heavy job for us. Like you said in the first, we had too many to chase. That hurt us badly,” Rishabh Pant said at the post-match presentation.
