As the summer transfer window approaches, Dutch sensation Xavi Simons has become one of Europe’s most sought-after young talents. The 21-year-old midfielder, who moved to RB Leipzig from Paris Saint-Germain in January 2025, has caught the eye of several Premier League giants, including Manchester United, Liverpool and also Bayern Munich. Simons has been a standout performer for Leipzig this season, showcasing his creativity, pace, and technical flair. His ability to operate in multiple attacking roles has made him a versatile target, and his performances have placed him high on the radar of clubs looking to bolster their attacking midfield options.

Simons seems to have made his decision to leave RB Leipzig in the summer owing to the fact that they are not going to be playing in European competitions in the next season. The youngster, being a product of Barcelona’s La Masia academy, fancies a move to Spain but such a transfer in the near future seems highly unlikely. On the other hand, Liverpool have also entered the race to sign Simons. New boss Arne Slot, along with players like Virgil van Dijk, Cody Gakpo, and Ryan Gravenberch, could play a key role in luring Simons to Anfield.

Bayern Munich already looking at busy summer with transfers of Jonathan Tah and Florian Wirtz

Bayern Munich are reportedly the most attentive to Simon’s situation at RB Leipzig and highly rate the Dutch midfielder as a prospective signing. With big names like Thomas Muller and Eric Dier set to leave the club in the summer, Bayern has been ramping up it’s transfer operations to secure good replacements. In such a scenario, they are already pushing hard to sign Jonathan Tah and Florian Wirtz, the transfer negotiations of whom seem to be progressing well.

Xavi Simons, who plays in a similar position as Florian Wirtz, could hence face competition if he does decide to sign for Bayern Munich. His hunger to play extended minutes and adapt to a bigger role in the team than just a bench-warmer could push him to look beyond the Bundesliga and explore other options in the European scenario.
