England veteran wicket-keeper batter Jos Buttler broke into record books during the Vitality T20 Blast 2025 match between Lancashire and Yorkshire played in Leeds. Batting first after winning the toss, Lancashire elected to bat first and lost their captain Keaton Jennings early in the third over. Buttler joined Phil Salt in the middle and built a 42-run stand off 25 balls. Salt departed after amassing 42 off 29 but the former English skipper hammered an incredible 77 off 46 to help his team reach the score of 174 in their 20 overs. During the game, when the 34-year-old hoarded his 31st run, he completed his 13000 T20 runs.

With the latest feat, he became the seventh overall and second England player to reach the milestone. Before him, his former England teammate Alex Hales achieved the record. Buttler has also become the third-fastest to reach the 13000-mark, following West Indies legend Chris Gayle and former Team India skipper Virat Kohli.
