The BCCI is looking to continue the remaining season of IPL 2025 soon after a ceasefire was announced between India and Pakistan amid the ongoing tensions between the neighbouring countries. IPL chairman Arun Dhamal said that they have consult with the Indian government before making any official announcement for the resumption of the tournament.

Notably, the ongoing IPL season was suspended for one week on May 9 after the tensions between India and Pakistan escalated at the border. The match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals in Dharamshala on May 8 was also abandoned midway and the players and the spectators were also asked to leave after a full blackout was implemented.

“Ceasefire has just been announced. We now explore the possibility of resuming and concluding the IPL. If it is possible to conduct it immediately… We need to work out the venue dates and everything, and we would now be speaking to all the stakeholders, including team owners, broadcasters, and everyone involved and find a way as to how to move forward. Most importantly, we will have to consult with the government,” Arun Dhumal told The Indian Express.

IPL franchises told to be ready for remainder of the season

Notably, the BCCI has reportedly informed the franchises to get ready for the remaining season of IPL 2025 and assemble their players. The board is looking to finish the season by the end of May with 16 matches remaining. The reports are also coming that BCCI will be looking to conduct the final as per the previously announced date of May 25 and there could be cluster of double headers.

Notably, the overseas players also flown back to their home and the BCCI is working to bring them back to India on a short notice. However, the official announcement is yet to be made for the resumption of IPL 2025.
